About City Connections

Reading a country from its cities

Every country here is drawn as a constellation: the capital as an amber dot, linked to its major cities in blue, with no border at all. The pattern of where people live gives it away. Most of Egypt’s dots follow the Nile from Aswan up to Cairo and the delta; Japan’s run in an arc from Sapporo down to Fukuoka.

Play it as multiple choice with four options, or switch to Type to Guess if you want no help. City names are shown after each answer, so a round of ten also teaches you where the big cities are.

Levels

Each of the four levels has its own 20 countries, 80 in all. Easy covers the countries most people could find on a map, from the United States and India to Nigeria and Thailand. Extreme saves the hardest outlines for last: Bhutan, Brunei, Suriname, Timor-Leste and Kyrgyzstan.
