About Geography Hangman

One blank per letter

A country name or capital city is hidden as a row of blanks. Guess letters by tapping or typing; a right letter fills every blank it belongs in, and a wrong one is a strike that draws another line of the gallows. Ten strikes and the word is lost. Ten words make a game, one point each, and a hint reveals the region or, for a capital, its country. Accented letters are revealed with their plain letter, so guessing E uncovers an É.

Countries, capitals or both

Choose Countries, Capitals or Mixed, then a level. The levels follow the countries’ own difficulty: 50 countries each at Easy, Medium and Hard, 45 at Extreme, and twice that many words in Mixed. Easy is the names you can spell in your sleep; Extreme is Kyrgyzstan, Liechtenstein, Nuku’alofa and Ngerulmud, where every wrong vowel costs a strike. The words you have already solved are set aside so the next game brings new ones.
