About the Merged Countries quiz

One shape, two countries

Each question fuses two neighbouring countries into a single silhouette, with the border between them erased. Your job is to split it again: name both countries. Every correct name scores a point, so a ten-question round is worth up to 20.

The trick is spotting where one familiar outline ends. Chile’s long Pacific strip pulls away from Argentina’s wedge; Italy’s boot hangs off the corner of France. When a shape refuses to resolve, a hint narrows it down.

How the levels grow

Easy uses only the 21 most recognisable country shapes, which border each other in just 9 pairs: Canada and the United States, China and Mongolia, Argentina and Brazil and so on. Medium opens up 32 pairs and Hard 109. Extreme draws from all 307 bordering pairs in the game, including small neighbours in the Balkans, West Africa and Central Asia where the merged outline gives very little away.
