About the Bodies of Water quiz

A sea with its shores shaded

One body of water is highlighted on the map, with the countries around it shaded so you can place it by its neighbours. Name it from four options. Ten questions make a round, one point each, and the set of 29 is played in one go rather than in levels.

Seas, gulfs, bays, straits and three lakes

The 29 include 14 seas, from the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the Red Sea to the Adriatic, the Aegean, the Coral Sea and the Tasman Sea; five gulfs, including the Gulf of Mexico, the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Guinea; the Bay of Bengal, the Bay of Biscay and Hudson Bay; four straits and channels, the Strait of Gibraltar, the English Channel, the Strait of Malacca and the Bering Strait; and the three lakes large enough to show on a world map, Superior, Victoria and Baikal. The Caspian, the largest inland body of water on Earth, is filed as a sea.

To learn the shapes without any coastline to help, the Lake & Sea Shapes quiz draws 51 of them as bare outlines.
